Technical Support Engineer

We are expanding our team with a Technical Support Engineer. The technical support engineer will provide firsthand technical product support to international distributors and end customers. Help us make the world a better and more sustainable place.

VPInstruments offers customers easy to use compressed air flow meters, gas flow meters and industrial energy monitoring solutions. Our products can be found in many industrial production plants, for example glass production, food and beverage, automotive, pharmaceutical plants, all over the world. We thrive on innovation and with our R&D department we work on improving our products and designing new ones, which we manufacture ourselves.

In order to proceed giving our clients and distributors the excellent service we are known for, we are expanding our team with a Technical Support Engineer.

In the position of technical support engineer, you can expect the following:

The technical support engineer will provide firsthand technical product support to international distributors and end customers by phone, chat, e-mail and remote real-time online connections. You are happy to dive into every issue raised by the client, varying from simple to super complex, and you won’t rest until the issue is fully resolved. You brainstorm about solutions, provide technical advice and make suggestions about the correct application of our products to our distributors and end customers.  As technical support engineer you like to have your things organized, keep record of all actions and use our ticketing system to keep everybody informed.

You have an eye for possible improvements and raise those with the R&D, production and sales departments. With concrete field experience you can contribute to further development of the off- and online technical support platform (print/online) for the complete product portfolio. You are going to set up our knowledge database so others can find help on reoccurring issues. Consequently, you prepare and issue basic product quotations in cooperation with our account managers.

Since we work with distributors all around the world, you get to travel to provide technical training or help on resolving local issues. The travelling is limited to an average of 6 times per year.

What we would expect from you:

  • You are fluent in English, Dutch is not necessary but nice to have, just like other language skills;
  • You know (Mod)BUS, 4 .. 20mA and other industrial communication protocols;
  • The issues raised can be on the software, mechanical or electrotechnical part of our products. So, you at least need to be able know your way with Linux and Windows, and have understanding of electrotechnical and/or mechanical engineering;
  • You are living in close proximity to our office in Delft or within a radius of 30 km;
  • Occasionally you will have to be reachable outside of office hours (evenings, or early morning) because of the different time zones of our clients;
  • You are pragmatic, accurate, ambitious and you have great communication skills;
  • You are available for 32 to 40 hours a week;
